Slandered Father, a demon the first man believed.

Our Parents, who should have known better, so easily deceived.

Though unjustly questioned, doubted, maligned,

Trustworthy You are and would prove so in time.

Bound by our stone hearts, in their sin have we,

cherished our own will above Your sovereignty.

The Son of the Morning with Adam our Head,

Mans unfettered will lost and these in its stead.

Are You bound to give Mercy to all or to some?

Is it not Your Grace alone that saves anyone?

Let Your counsel, not ours be the script of this stage,

for Lord You are good and You never will change.

Let no name but Your Name on Earth be named higher.

Drank Your Son the Wrath Cup and plucked Yours from the Fire.

For all time thus proving by His precious blood

that in Christ, Your Glory, is our greatest good.

Resource: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist

Posted by: Martin Sullivan   in Resources

John MacArthur called it, “A soul-stirring celebration of the pleasures of knowing God… A must read for every Christian and a feast for the spiritually hungry.”

Desiring God by John Piper

For the month of November, ChristianAudio.com is offering John Piper’s Desiring God for free.  I downloaded the audio book a couple days ago and am savoring the spiritual insight provided by this man of God.  You will need to establish a free account with Christian Audio, but there are no other requirements.

Download the book.  Listen to the narration.  Post any wonderful insight or revelation you receive in the comments below.  Be blessed.

Resource: Christian Classics Ethereal Library

Posted by: Martin Sullivan   in Resources

I have recently been blessed to find the Christian Classics Ethereal Library, a work of Calvin College. As stated on their front page, “The mission of the CCEL is to build up the church by making classic Christian writings available and promoting their use.” The most useful writing I have found so far… Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible (in .pdf format as well)!

Make use of this wonderful resource and post here any writings you find especially helpful.
